Monster

This succulent reminds me of the quote by Goya: "Fantasy, abandoned by reason, produces impossible monsters; united with it, she is the mother of the arts and the origin of marvels." Coincidentally, this plant jives with a preconceived idea I have for use of the quote in my next class project.

This one I do know from my previous research on flowers for the an old section I used to maintain on KOL, Royal Garden, which later became A Walk With God, and later became Awesome Blossoms, which as we can plainly see is now A 1000 Words.

Research to confirm genus, revealed interesting Links uses and a Links case report.

The Taking

UPDATE!

open quotation mark The bug is a Small Milkweed Bug
see guide. So, the plant ought to be some kind of milkweed, though it's not one I recognize, at least from this angle (the big pods do look like they could belong to a milkweed relative). It's also possible the bug wandered over from another plant, I suppose. : )
… Hannah Nendick-Mason, 8 September, 2008 - 8:30pm close quotation mark

I saw this plant walking into Dining Coco's, Culver City. This flower reminds me of descriptions from Once Upon A Time The Taking. I managed to peak inside a busted globe and discovered what appeared to be seeds similar to a dandelion. And how lucky should I be to find yet another bug without a name. As proven by my entomologic prowess, I regret to inform you that I do not know the name of the plant either. What's with all these plants and bugs growing and running about without names?

By the way, breakfast was delicious and pleasant.

These pictures were taking last night at The Movie Star's and El Político's bungalow atop a Chavez Ravine hillside on Lilac Terrace, where a nice evening among friends was enjoyed by all.
